Minnesota Senate Passes Bill Permitting Same Sex Marriage

Speaking as a heterosexual, married male, I am delighted to see that Minnesota has joined the 21st century and granted me equal rights, because as long as anyone doesn’t have equal rights, nobody has equal rights.  I saw some comment on a web site that this was a granting of “special rights”.  No, it isn’t.  As long as heterosexuals were permitted to marry the people they loved but gay people couldn’t marry the ones they loved, it was the heterosexuals who had the special rights.  I love equal rights.   I don’t love Minnesota and never will, but the legislature did the right thing on this issue, so good on ‘em.
